Bliss is a forester’s dog and this was her first day at work.

It’s her job to go to the woods. There’s no time like the present to start training her.
On her first day she got to play in numerous rivers and visit the redwoods. Not bad for a day one. I documented her day in the gallery below.
Bliss was nine weeks old on this outing. We needed a few breaks on the way to air out.
It’s always good to stop somewhere with a nice view. We were traveling through the coastal range.
Forester dog training 101, you have to be able to climb over logs! She wasn’t sure, but she mastered it.
Camera straps are apparently for “tug o war!”
Hollow trees are fun! I think she wanted to take this old Pacific Madrone home.
We have to deal with traffic jams out in the boondocks too.
Our destination Honeydew, California!
After visiting the logging job we stopped for a drink in the Mattole River.
She was my first dog to visit the Mattole River, and she got to do it on her first trip.
Bliss loves sand! It makes her play like crazy.
Under the big trees.
A girl has to pee, even in the redwoods.
Pacific Coast Iris, Iris tenax.
After posing, she’s ready to roll!
Leaving the big trees behind.
Another drink, this time from the Eel River.
This girl loves her sand! She plays on the banks of the Eel River.
Work is exhausting.

Clearly a busy day! Love the pic at the end – I bet she slept well after all those new experiences.

Oh, she did, but first she had to play like a fiend with Sailor when we go home.

She is a-dor-a-ble! I love to play in the sand and rivers also.. Maybe we can set up a play date 😉

If you have a sandy beach, she’s there! She loves that sand.

Bliss and the Pacific Madrone looked great together. No wonder she wanted to take it home. Loved them all. What a great first outing. Thanks for sharing.

I wouldn’t mind taking it home too. I just couldn’t figure out how to get it in my truck.

True, but the Shasta-Trinity National Forest might object. 😉

I think so too, but I admit that I’m pretty biased.

It’s fun when people see her in my truck. I love watching some tough old logger or rancher turn into a puddle.

And she is a great passenger, except when she’s trying to look out my window. Then we get a little too crowded. I’ve had some pups over the years that got carsick, but she has no problem, and we’ve been over some really windy roads.

She truly is. There’s nothing like a dog as a companion in the woods.

Your killing me, my brother! Lol. Bliss is so adorable! I am so glad you have this little girl to become your partner, in your endeavors out in the woods. Give her a big hug for me!:)

She’s adorable alright, but don’t let her fool you. She’s really a wiggley piranha!

Oh my Bliss is getting really big – still has those tired and baggy puppy eyes. He’ll be a natural in the woods and hunting.

She is growing like a weed! Every time I pick her up it feels like she’s gained another 2 pounds.

Someone(s) look like they had a lot of fun. I bet the trip home was quieter than the trip out.

Cutie pie. Is she a yellow lab? I may behind the curve here if you have already answered the question, Bliss is training for?

Bliss is a golden retriever. She’s training for hunting test events and hunting in general. She’s a wild child right now.

Good luck with the training. I have a yellow female lab. My service dog for mobility. They can be a handful.
