How much fun is that!! I hadn’t seen any bucks around here in a couple of years, I think due to a wasting disease that had been going around, but last week we saw a very big one with a huge rack in the back yard and later in the upper field. Unfortunately he ran off before I could get my camera out. I hope he comes back again.

I love seeing them around. We usually see them a lot this time of year. They come down from the high country for the acorns and mild weather during the winter. This year the acorn crop was pretty poor at our place so they’ve been scarce. I took this picture during the summer. These are some of our local resident deer.

We usually have a pretty good acorn crop, especially in the wooded areas. The wildlife is pretty lucky around here.
