Wild Wednesday … Birds of the Mill Pond

I see this red tail hawk hunting around the pond pretty regularly. The lightning rod stands on the east side of the pond.

A ruddy duck hen cruises the pond.

The mill pond, also known as the otter pond, is visited by various birds all year long. This was a snapshot of the visitors one day in November.

  Thank you Laura! I think the lightning rod is near the pond for better grounding. I believe it is tied to all the large metal mill buildings.

    I wish we had a pond on our property…but we live fairly close to lakes and we see some nice waterfowl at various times of the year. We don’t usually take photos as nice as yours though! 🙂

      I bet you could. We love our ponds. There our swimming pools. Although, they’re hard to float around on with goldens trying to climb on our inflatable rafts.
