i thought that was a nuthatch! though, strangely enough, i’ve begun seeing more brown creepers now. i heard the song of a brown creeper today in Chester. the creeper and nuthatch often pass each other, going up & down the trunk, respectively. silly upside-down nuthatches!

We don’t have any brown creepers here that I’ve noticed. When we lived in Quincy, we used to see them. They are fun to watch. Such a different personality from most other birds.

I saw a nuthatch exactly like that a couple of days ago. It was hopping vertically up the side of a tree like it didn’t even know it was sideways. 🙂

I know what you mean. It’s like they have no sense of gravity.
