The Sacramento River Canyon caught fire today near Pollard Flat. Another fire and this one is near the Hirz Fire. This is the Delta Fire.
It started just after lunch and began building its own pyro-cumulus cloud right away. Just what we need here, another wildfire. Lamoine and other river communities are being evacuated.
Oh my goodness. Dreadful news. I am so sorry to hear about the start of another wildfire. I sure hope that you and Mary are safe from any traveling to your area.

We’re good here. Part of the reason we live where we do is because it’s very defenseable from fire. Our fire services has been aggressively going after these fires. This one took off so fast.

Be safe. Wildfires are never ending this year. Not even here.

It’s sure been a season for the record books here in NorCal. I’m ready for this to be done. We have so much work to do in the woods.

Thanks Lindy, it certainly does. We’re ready for some rain, but it won’t be anytime soon.

I woke up to the morning news of people trapped on a road and logging trucks burned. Stay safe.

One of our trucks got singed and an independent log hauler lost his truck. There were also individuals who lost cars. Every one was lucky to get out alive.

I’m sure it is. It’s not the same, but my son, who logs in Montana, is fed up with the heat and the hornets. Got stung up pretty good today. Told him about your situation and he really feels for you.

No doubt he can relate. Our yellowjackets and hornets have been terrible here this year too. The fires are taking care of that problem.

That would never be a ‘nice sight’ when gazing toward the horizon. May that lightning in the header image represent heavy rains to extinguish the fires. Nice image, btw!

We drove past 3 smaller roadside fires (with one getting bigger and lots of fire personnel around) on our way back from our Boise visit near the UT/WY border and in WY. I don’t know how they turned out because we were just passing through. Please stay safe.

Thanks Ruth, we’re all good here. We finally had rain last weekend. That was a relief on the fires. Hopefully there will be more to follow. I think that’s our first rain since May or June.
