You are always so great in sketching the animals, what was it like sketching yourself? Norman Rockwell seemed to like painting himself.

Norman Rockwell, oh to be grouped with such greatness! You know how to stroke a guys ego Gail. 😉 Or do you mean Norman and I are egotistical? 🤔 A self portrait is about the same as any critter. I’m just trying to interpret the shadows. I’m trying to improve doing portraits so it’s good practice. Besides I don’t offend anybody if I do a self portrait and mess it up. 🤪

No, I was not stroking your ego, you include detail that so many other artists omit, you and Norman include the heart of the subject into your work.

Thank you Judy! I don’t know if self portraits are harder than other portraits. I just think portraits are hard, especially pen and ink portraits. I admire people who are really good at it.
