The inking is complete and I’ve been painting furiously. I taken some vacation time to complete this project. Today I was painting the chipper scene. I posted about that one before.
I couldn’t decide which picture to post, so here’s another.

Tim, this is such an important project. You are preserving information for generations to come. Well worth some vacation time to complete. I’m glad you could arrange it. I saw two coffee mugs in the first scene. I toast you virtually! By the way, the mugs match the color scheme too. 😉

Thank you Linda! The mugs are my water mugs for painting. One is my dirty water mug and the other my clean water mugs. That way I can double rinse my brushes. It keeps the colors pure.

I find that after the effort of the pencil layout and all of the inking, the color painting is almost a relief and not nearly so stressful. Do you? I know it’s not effortless, but by then, the hardest part seems to be done (at least for me.)

I think that’s largely true for me too. The pen and ink really sorts the picture out. Painting into the detailed pen and ink is fairly new for me and I find my self being not bold enough with the color. I don’t have that problem with a straight watercolor. I’m having to retrain myself for the pen and inks.
