Get Your Strut On, It’s Spring!!

I chance upon these handsome fellas on the way home the other night. I stopped and chatted them up a bit with my call. They obliged by talking back and showing me a strut that would make a runway model proud.

  It is indeed. I’ve seen 50 bird flocks with a dozen gobblers strutting. Fun stuff. They’re not usually in that big of flocks so it’s impressive when you do see them like that.

Our big fellas have been starting to strut around, too. I did once see a tom and hen in our yard moving through the preliminaries. I don’t know if he was successful, but we always seem to have lots of babies.
