Too true, more so today. The founding fathers had a great deal of wisdom and their thoughts apply even now. I hope you cool down soon. That’s too hot for me (even if it is a dry heat). I hope the fires stay away from you.

Lovely photo. We have seen bald eagles twice on our lake in the past couple of years, but not for a while.

  Thanks Ruth. The heat finally broke yesterday. It was down to 100. It is amazing what a difference that makes. We’ve been fortunate to not have any fires with this heat. When I was a firefighter years ago, we found that we had less fires when the temperatures went over 105. The reason was that nobody wanted to go outside when it got that hot.

    Came back Wednesday morning, had a flat tyre on car, a couple of hours fixing, slept all Wednesday, solid, worked Thursday & Friday.
    
    My job is not a pleasure. My boss treats me like an unintelligent hassle in her peripheral. I tolerated it before, but coming back from holiday MAN it struck me loud and clear.
