Our weather has been reaching the 70’s during the last week. The grass is growing and buds are beginning to swell. Around the Mill Site there is another sign of Spring. Pairing off and searching for nest sites, the birds are all around.

Lovely photos. I was amused by the osprey nest – the last one I saw was in Loch Garten, Scotland and that was in pine trees.

We have a lot of osprey here and they will use any available high point. One year the crew left a crane parked with the tower up and the osprey immediately built on it. So it sat until the osprey were done.

Lovely! I`ve seen some very curious nesting sites chosen by storks in Spain (even the tops of street lights – built in central heating!)

Yes it IS lovely to see Spring returning like this 🙂
Makes me smile thinking of Spring temps in the 70’s … That’s Summer in UK if we are lucky !
Look forward to updates on nests – I’ve a thing about nest spotting 😉

Teka is the impressive one, fllowed by the geese, the mallards, goldeneyes, osprey nest and then the cormorants. I like all these photos very much. You have so many places and scenes to photograph. You and Mary are so blessed to live in an area that is teeming with wildlife.

Teka was funny. She wanted nothing more than for me to tell her to fetch those geese. She didn’t know she could never catch them on the water.

That is cute. So Teka is not your dog? I thought that you and Mary have 2 goldens.

all beautiful! there’s a lone osprey, or i think just a lone osprey, that returns to this last bend of the river each year. i don’t realize that he’s gone until i hear his call to announce that he’s returned. ah, music to my ears!
the header image is stunning, and i loved all of the photos! thanks!

Thanks Z, I check every day for the ospreys. I think they will be here soon. I saw one up the river a couple days ago. The header picture is over the pond at our home. I love our sunsets.
