Wow, how can I “not” reblog this, both these photos are absolutely amazing! On top, I have a crush on powerline towers (they make me think: jewellery!), and the moon… The moon, there she is, wow! Thank you Tim, this made my week!
Two blondes in California were sitting on a bench talking … and one blonde says to the other,
“Which do you think is farther away … Florida or the moon?”
The other blonde turns and says “Helloooooooooo, can you see Florida …?”
AND
A teacher asks their students “Which is more useful, the Sun or the Moon?”
After a moment of silence a ten-year old student puts his hand up and answers, “I think it’s the Moon because the moon shines at night when you want the light, whereas the Sun shines during the day when you don’t need it.”
Thank you Wendy. I drove around looking for the right fog consistency with the sun showing through a tree, but when I saw the steel tower I just had to stop and shoot it.
I’m so glad you like it Leslie. It really got my attention when I saw it framed that way. I was actually looking for a tree or something natural in the picture, but the tower was so striking.
I like the first photo of the sun behind the fog the best although they are both great photos. I wish I had a camera I could zoom in on the moon with 🙂

Uh oh, how can you tell looking at the photo! I checked the moon phase on the calender to see what it was, but perhaps I waxed when I should have waned.
As a rule of thumb, when the darkened part of the Moon is towards the east, it’s waxing, and when the darkened part is towards the west, as in your fine photo, it’s waning. Also, the waning gibbous Moon, such as in your photo, will be visible in the western sky in the morning, whereas the waxing gibbous Moon will be visible in the eastern sky in the evening. By any chance did you take the two photos on the same morning, not long after sunrise? All your photos are wonderful. Keep them coming!
