It is a new year with new pictures to take, and new art to make. I’m back at work and it is a beautiful, cool and sunny day here in Northern California. I spend part of my time at an industrial mill complex. When folks think of an industrial site they rarely think of doing wildlife photography. Although, it seems counter-intuitive, this site is a magnet for wildlife. There is water all around the site and the wild areas here, get little disturbance. This morning I took a few pictures of some of our residents. I have taken so many pictures of wildlife here at the mill that I am going to start a new catagory called Wildlife At The Mill.
Enjoyed reading about the mill and the birds that benefit from the water source.. Nice shots of the egrets and the heron.

The egret/mountain shot is brilliant. As an experiment I copied and reversed it and it makes a great desktop background. I have my own favourite wallpaper, so here you go, you can have it back. Thanks for the loan. Ralph

Tim, Great new header and the pictures as usual amazing. The mill’s area looking very interesting and the wild life is great. Mind you the picture with the logs is also very good.

Thanks. I have already taken a lot more wildlife shots around the mill since I posted those. All one has to do is look and there is another interesting picture calling out to be taken!

The first photo brightened my day. I live in Southern California but lived in CO for a stint. I miss the mountains!

It’s no surprise that you find the wildlife – I’m sure you’re always paying attention. I miss the egrets – love the egret & mountain shot – I used to live on the east coast, where they’re pretty easy to find. Now I’m in the Pacific Northwest, whcih I’m loving, but no egrets. Thanks!

Thank you. I’m glad you are enjoying the PNW. There are egrets out here, so I’m sure if you keep watching you will find them. We do have a lot of them here in Northern California.
